Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 2026
Joy Pilot Ltd is committed to making our website and web application accessible to as many people as possible, in line with the UK Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
This statement applies to the Joy Pilot marketing website at joypilot.co and to the Joy Pilot web application signed into by customers.
Conformance status
Joy Pilot self-certifies as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content may not fully conform to the accessibility standard. Known gaps, and the work we are doing to close them, are set out below.
1. Our commitment
1.1 We believe good accounting software should work for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technologies. We treat accessibility as part of the product, not an afterthought. We test new screens against WCAG 2.1 AA before release and work to fix any issues we discover.
1.2 Accessibility considerations we bake in by default include:
- Semantic HTML with meaningful landmarks, headings, and labels.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element.
- Colour combinations that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios.
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting — animations are reduced or removed for users who prefer it. - Text that reflows and remains legible at 200% browser zoom.
- Alternative text on meaningful images and ARIA labels on icon-only controls.
- Form fields with associated labels, error messages, and programmatic hints.
2. What is accessible
2.1 On the Joy Pilot marketing site and the majority of the Joy Pilot application, you should be able to:
- Navigate the site using just a keyboard.
- Zoom in up to 200% without content being lost or breaking out of the viewport.
- Listen to most of the content using a modern screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, or TalkBack).
- Use the site comfortably on a mobile phone, tablet or desktop browser.
- Read content in a clear, sans-serif font with sufficient line-height and colour contrast.
- Switch your operating system to reduced-motion and see a calmer, animation-free experience.
3. Known limitations
3.1 We know some parts of Joy Pilot are not yet fully accessible. We are actively working on the areas below and will update this statement as they are resolved:
- Some data tables and reports — complex financial tables may not yet expose full row/column semantics to screen readers. A refresh of our reporting views is in progress.
- Rich-text editors — third-party editors used for invoice notes and email templates may not fully match our keyboard-and-screen-reader standard. We are tracking vendor updates and alternatives.
- Historic blog images — a small number of older blog posts may have images without descriptive alternative text. New posts are published to the current standard, and we are auditing the archive.
- PDF documents — some downloadable PDFs (older guides and generated invoices) may not meet PDF/UA tagging requirements. Newly generated documents are improving as we roll out updated templates.
3.2 If you hit an accessibility problem that isn’t listed here, please tell us — see section 4.
4. Reporting accessibility problems
4.1 We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Joy Pilot. If you run into a barrier, or you need information in a different format (for example, large print, plain-text, or an alternative file type), please contact us:
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form: joypilot.co/contact.php
4.2 We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within two working days and to give you a realistic timeline for any fix.
5. Enforcement (UK users)
5.1 The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the UK Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018. If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
